After the intense rumors of the last few months, Apple has officially revealed its first headphones with an over-ear design. We are talking about AirPods Max , which offer active noise cancellation (ANC), easy access to Siri and everything else you are used to from the AirPods experience. According to the company's words, its new headphones can provide amazing sound quality, while at the same time they are also equipped with Adaptive EQ and spatial audio technologies.
Of course, all this has its price, since the price for the American market is $549 dollars. Yes, you read that right. At the moment, we do not know how the cost will be shaped in our country, but it is not unlikely that we will see this amount even more increased. It is worth noting that they will only be compatible with other Apple devices, such as the iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac and Apple TV.
Moving on to some design details, Apple makes use of a knitted mesh that allows your head to 'breathe', as far as the headband is concerned. The frame of the headphones is made of stainless steel and adapts to a wide variety of head shapes and sizes.
Apple is proud to have created a revolutionary mechanism for connecting the ear cups to the headband, which allows the headphones to rotate more freely to sit as comfortably as possible on your head. In fact, the ear cups have memory foam, which is able to better isolate the surrounding sound.
The H1 chip integrated into each earphone has 10 audio cores for an "unrepeatable sound experience". AirPods Max have 40mm magnets and the company promises deep bass, tremendous accuracy in the mid-range and clear highs. Apple also uses a dual neodymium magnet ring engine that it claims keeps overall distortion to less than 1%, even at maximum volume.
Their battery lasts 20 hours on a single charge and with ANC and spatial audio enabled. Being, of course, AirPods, they also come with a smart charging case.
Their release is scheduled for December 15
