Microsoft continues to make surprising moves after announcing that Microsoft Office for mobile devices is free for Android and iOS. This means you won't need an Office 365 subscription to edit files or save them to OneDrive Cloud.
The news regarding the free release came along with several updates to the Office mobile applications as well as an upcoming version designed specifically for Android tablets.
More specifically, in an effort to expand the spread of Office, Microsoft announced Word, PowerPoint and Excel applications for the iPhone and updates for the iPad versions. In addition, according to reports, they are working to make touch-optimized versions of Office applications for the upcoming Windows 10 OS.
As far as Android is concerned, Microsoft launched the Office for Android tablet review program, in which any users who wish can sign-up. Microsoft plans the final version for Android will be ready in early 2015.
Finally, it brought another update regarding Dropbox integration, as well as new editing tools for mobile device users.
